Steps in Medical Website Development Part V

At this point in the medical web development process, your website should be in a rough-draft state. Everything should be designed, developed, and complete. Now you will want to go through and make sure that everything works and that the website looks professional. Again, it is important to include others in these steps so that nothing is left unchecked and there is more than one opinion.

Testing – Step 8

This is the most important step in professional medical website design because nothing looks more unprofessional than broken links or technology that doesn’t work. Test everything, and have other people test it as well. Make detailed notes about things that don’t work and any aspect of your site that you may not be happy with. This is also a good time to review the notes that came out of the conceptualization stage and to ask, “Is this the website we envisioned, and does it meet the goal we set out to accomplish?”

Fixing any problems – Step 9

Once the notes of everyone who took part in the test stage have been reviewed, it is time to fix anything that is not working properly. Once something is fixed, test it again. Any problems with the content should be addressed here as well.

Launching the site – Step 10

Now that everything has been checked and double-checked, it is time to launch your website to the public. This would be a great time to send out press releases and submit your site to the pertinent directories to help improve the SEO of your website.
